I love the library

With Capital Callie as my sister, I grew up loving books
and libraries and binding and lovely reading nooks.
However, having spent the past 6 months within the LAO
my love for libraries has multiplied, just like the falling snow.

I am the Communications Assistant, a worthy task indeed.
I spend my time fulfilling the library's pr needs.
I write news releases and articles on the resources we offer,
Which are many I assure you, so don't you be a scoffer.

Roger is my boss, and one of the nicest people ever born.
His kindness and unselfishness are miles above the norm.
He always keeps me updated on the craziest new things,
like the crazy Utah sun tunnels, and cameras all in pink.

And I could never forget my favorite business office guys,
they are the cutest lil accountants, just without the ties;)
There is Ryan and there is Jesse, the true extensity pros,
They help me choose my music, my BYU big bros

However, my favorite coworker is the library itself,
to each it offers something different, from each and every self.
It never ceases to give comfort, it never breaks your heart
It has been an honor and a privilege, and I never wish to part.

However graduation is approaching, it gets closer every day.
two months from tomorrow, my goodbyes I will say.
As I return to alma mater throughout the coming years,
I will remember the library fondly, and probably shed some tears.

A truly wickedly wonderful week

This past seven day stretch, called my many a "week,"
was truly sensational, nay SUPERB to this geek!
Two dreams came true, just like Cinderella,
in fact one involved my own charming fella!
(However, I regret with much dismay
the mice are in short supply these days)

But back to the story, my own yarn, my tale. . .
It all started Wednesday, with a special e-mail.
I received a response from a woman named jen,
at the job I have wanted since I was ten.
Scenemakers is the name, event planning the game
and on Monday I interview with jen the dame.

I cannot describe how excited I am!
The dream is here, in the palm of my hand!
Now just 17 hours after I spoke with dear Jen
I talked with my prince, a boy named Ben.
I have had a crush on Ben since we met in the fall,
But he had a cute girlfriend, she was really a doll.

Sadly for her they broke up awhile back
and I suggested a way to get back on the track.
I said, well hey, I know a girl if you feel so inclined,
she could be a chill date in a dating bind.
So we went out last night, 'twas the best date EVER
with grilled cheese, x-box and an Avatar endeavor.

Then today I came to my favorite place,
my Mary's Bridal, full of silks and lace.
And tomorrow I get to go to Church,
and learn from others, from the podium perch.
When I look at these things, it is hard to believe
all the incredible blessings that are given to me.

How to Be a Bad Student Without Really Trying

I am not a good student, I regret to admit,
I can teach you my ways, like a bad student kit.
The first step is easy, just lose all motivation,
and maintain the same mindset you do on vacation.
Follow this step by my recommended routine
of ditching frequently--but avoid being seen!

As a bad student I find it an absolute truth
to live off of donuts, though somewhat uncouth.
This sugar is necessary if you want to succeed-
for the coma is crucial for you to achieve.

Remember to fall asleep at appropriate times--
in classes after three and all those before nine.
And never, not ever, break the cardinal rule
of really listening to teachers, don't be a fool!

For although they are smart and know all kinds of stuff,
Everything learned after high school is fluff.
There is no room after that, your head is too full!
So just leave it alone, don't be tempted to mull.

When you graduate from high school you can't take anymore,
due to advanced placement classes and career planning galore!
I have been planning and planning since I was in the sixth grade,
and I am exhausted from thinking about how I intend to be paid.

Should I be an actress? A lawyer? A doctor?
Should I write a great novel or try flying a 'copter?
Should I take the GRE or maybe the DAT?
All those tests seem to come from the Cat in the Hat

Alas this is how to be a become a bad student,
by ignoring all calls to be wise and be prudent.
I hope you will heed these words of advice,
in my vast experience they have surely sufficed.

Not a poem, but a list is kinda like a poem

Okay, so I keep thinking of all the things I want to do before my time in P-town USA, and my beloved BYU campus, is up. Here is what I have in mind thus far:

1. See a lot of movies in the Provo theaters (both dollar and regular): Nine, the one that is coming out in February, some others I can't remember, something animated cuz I can't remember the last time I saw an animated movie in a theater seat, It's Complicated

2. Harley Davidson store in Utah County: Because I have a rather odd love for motorcycles-even though I am terrified to drive them-and my favorite chef on the planet raves about the restaurant there. I especially want to see the V-rod, the beautiful motorcycle that combines the raw speed of a bullet bike with the class and elegance of porsche engine technology. Mmmmmm....vroom vroom

3. Sammy's

4. Road trip: tis true friends, I have thus never taken a college road trip! Oh my gosh! I know. But clearly, I have ever intention of remedying this. Disneyland or Vegas. If I am gonna do this, I am gonna do it right. And as always, in style...

5. Pasta Roni: I have nowhere near consumed enough pasta roni to merit graduation. Quotas people, quotas!

6. Pizza! : I always associated pizza with college. Well, more specifically, pizza being delivered. Picking up pizza is just not the same as partying with friends uninterrupted by a lovely greasy pizza.

7. jdawgs!: more jdawgs! Jdawgs is totally not going to be the same when I am not a student, I will just be one of those wannabes, so I need to get some serious beef dawgs with lots of special sauce in.

8. Holding hands at the devo: THIS is real BYU. Holding hands at a devotional. Can it get more co-ed than that?!! Maybe I should wear a shade shirt, jeans that are way too light and heinous flats, now I am ready to be full BYU from 11:05 to 11:50.

9. I need to officially buy a Cecil is my homeboy shirt! I keep talking about it, at least once a week for the last three years. But if I bought it after I graduated, well that would just be creepy. But wearing a cartoon picture of my University's president across my chest pre-commencement isn't creepy whatsoever!

10. Kiss at the bell tower: I have never kissed at the bell tower! Actually, I have never walked up to the bell tower platform/balcony thing. Ever. I am the worst BYU student ever. But one must do what one must do. Thus, I shall kiss at the Bell Tower. Fortunately my boyfriend is insanely gorgeous, which helps in this overwhelming task:)

Wish me luck in my endeavors! Graduation is just a few short months away. Scary.

Rhyming Rolls

As Thanksgiving is upon us, a new poem I will write
of my favorite Thanksgiving ritual and right.
'Tis the rolls each year, those golden brown,
that make me grateful and eliminate frown.
Whether Nana's crescent rolls of a citrus nature,
or Mom's so fluffy from the bread maker,
I love them all, even more than the pies
And eat enough to double my thighs.
I try to wait until dinner is served,
but I tend to sneak one, which usually perturbs
the mothers who slave over the dough and the flavor
for all of their kindred to love and to savor.

I love rolls!

Percocet Poetry

Alas dear friends I was plagued again,
as I drove to ER last night, three hours past ten.
Twas not the colitis, nor even the swine
that made my back pain cross the line.

For in my two kidneys I have twenty new friends,
they are stoners for sure, with painful ends.
For once they leave kidneys they wriggle and writhe,
till they escape, a feeling not blithe

My lovely nurse Breanne and the swell Doctor Dale
prescribed me some percocet, to make me feel well.
If lortab made me loopy I can't even describe
the fun that await me, once the percocet's inside.

Now everyone relax, I am just kidding you see.
well, not about the stones or my nice nurse Miss Bre.
But I have not touched the percocet, nor will I ever
...at least until mr. stone and his 19 friends enter.

Thanks for your wishes and thoughts ever so kind,
I am back to myself, with just a little more rhyme.

Lortab Limerick

Hello confidantes! (yeah, there is an "e." I doubt any males read this blog, so I felt that was safe. I use that version as much as possible as it was a note my dear sister wrote in the very beginning of my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice. )

So, after a weekend of feeling like my abdomen was soaring through an asteroid field aboard the millennium falcon, I finally went to the doctor last night. This was followed by the e.r. And then the pharmacy. Apparently I have "colitis." As I have never heard of this on Grey's Anatomy I kinda think they are making it up. But at least the pharmacist was his own kind of McDreamy. Yum. Anyways, McDreamy Drug man finally gave me some Lortab last night which made the asteroid pelted abdomen pain desist. As such, I have decided to write a Lortab Limerick. *Just a note, it is shocking how much easier Limerick's are to create when on Lortab.*
Lovely Loopy Lortab...a limerick in short

My colitis makes my abdomen quake,
but my Lortab makes it take a break
McDreamy gave pills,
Jim handed him bills
And now I feel as "baked" as a cake.
